All three documents above are required before this agreement can be submitted.

1. Eligibility & Driver Requirements

Renter must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid driver's license, and provide current proof of insurance for the towing vehicle. Only the named Renter, or persons specifically authorized by A1A Trailer Rentals in writing, may tow or operate the trailer.

2. Tow Vehicle & Equipment Requirements

Renter is solely responsible for ensuring their towing vehicle is rated for the loaded weight of the trailer (GVWR) and is equipped with a properly rated hitch, ball, safety chains, electrical connection, and brake controller where applicable.

3. Condition & Pre-Rental Inspection

Renter acknowledges they have personally inspected the trailer at pickup, that it is in good working order, and that any pre-existing damage has been documented on the inspection checklist.

4. Permitted & Prohibited Use

The trailer may be used only for lawful purposes within the continental United States. Prohibited uses include off-road or racing use, hazardous materials, livestock or human passengers, subletting, or operation while impaired.

5. Insurance, Risk of Loss & Indemnification

Renter's personal auto liability and physical damage insurance is the primary coverage during the rental period. Renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless A1A Trailer Rentals from all claims arising from Renter's use of the trailer.

6. Damage, Loss & Theft

Renter is responsible for the full cost of repair for any damage occurring during the rental period, regardless of fault. Theft or total loss requires payment of full fair-market replacement value plus loss-of-use damages.

7. Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit is collected upfront at the time of payment β€” $100 for 7x16 and 7x20 car haulers, and $250 for the 14' dump trailer β€” charged together with the rental fee. The deposit is refunded within 7 business days after the trailer is returned in equivalent condition, less any amounts owed under this Agreement.

8. Returns, Late Fees & Cleaning

Late returns are subject to a fee of $25 per hour. Trailers returned uncleaned are subject to a $50 cleaning fee. Failure to return within 24 hours without approval may be reported to law enforcement.

9. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations more than 24 hours before start: full refund. Within 24 hours: $25 fee. No-shows forfeit the entire rental fee.

10. Mechanical Issues During Rental

A1A Trailer Rentals' sole liability for trailer failure through no fault of Renter is limited to a prorated refund for unused time and reasonable recovery assistance.

11. Assumption of Risk

Towing a trailer involves inherent risks. Renter acknowledges and voluntarily assumes these risks and waives claims against A1A Trailer Rentals for injury or damage arising from such inherent risks.

12. Unattended / Contactless Pickup and Return

This may be a contactless rental where no A1A Trailer Rentals employee is present at pickup or return. Renter is solely responsible for confirming the trailer's identity (unit number/VIN) and condition, and that all components β€” lights, tires, coupler, safety chains, and ramps β€” are in good working order, before towing the trailer away from an unstaffed location. By taking possession, Renter waives any claim that the trailer was provided in unsatisfactory condition unless documented per Section 13 below.

13. Required Pickup & Return Photo Documentation

Because no A1A representative inspects the trailer with Renter in person during a contactless transaction, Renter must take and submit time-stamped photographs of the trailer (hitch/coupler, tires, frame, lights, and overall exterior) at both pickup and return, sent to A1A Trailer Rentals within 30 minutes of taking possession and within 30 minutes of drop-off. Failure to submit pickup photos waives any claim of pre-existing damage. Failure to submit return photos may result in Renter being held responsible for any damage discovered at A1A's next inspection of the trailer.

14. Access Codes & Lockbox Security

Any lockbox code, gate code, or access credential provided to Renter for a contactless pickup is personal to Renter and may not be shared, photographed for distribution, or provided to any third party. Renter is responsible for any use of the trailer resulting from a shared or compromised access code. A1A Trailer Rentals is not liable for delays or inability to access the trailer due to technology failure (lock, app, network, or GPS) beyond its reasonable control, but will make commercially reasonable efforts to provide alternate access or a prorated refund for any resulting delay.

15. GPS Tracking Disclosure

Trailers may be equipped with GPS tracking devices used for security, recovery, and rental-period verification purposes. By renting, Renter consents to location tracking of the trailer during the rental period. A1A Trailer Rentals will not use this data for purposes unrelated to security, theft prevention, recovery, or verifying compliance with this Agreement.

16. Governing Law & Venue

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Disputes shall be brought in state or federal courts in St. Johns County, Florida.

17. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect. This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties.

18. Acknowledgement

By signing, Renter confirms they have read and understood all terms, accept full responsibility for the trailer during the rental period, and have authority to bind themselves or any business entity.
